Emergency First Aid & CPR C – Coquitlam

Course duration Emergency First Aid Blended (OFA 1) includes 4 hours theory online + 4.5 hours practical in-class (8 hours total training + breaks). How it works Once we've booked the course date with you, we'll register the course participants with Red Cross for their online theory course. Red Cross will send the participants a link to their online course. They can do the online course in their own time but it must be completed before the in-person session. The online course doesn't have to be done in a single session. Most people find the online class takes between 2-4 hours. In-class training: On the scheduled course date, the participants will attend a skills training session where they will learn the required practical first aid and CPR skills. There will be a refreshment break midway through the session. At the end of the day, there will be a multiple-choice test. 100% attendance is required and participants must achieve 75% in the test for certification to be issued. Location You can book a private group class at our classroom in Coquitlam or at your location if you have a suitable training area. Space requirements If you're planning a class at your location, please ensure your space is large enough to ensure physical distancing during the class. Participants must be separated with approximately two metres between them during the class. Room size and shape If the space you are considering using for the training is small, long and narrow, noisy or busy, please consider using our Coquitlam venue. Dates If you're interested in booking a private group class at your location or ours, please send us a list of dates that would work for your training and we will check instructor availability. We take bookings up to six months ahead and can run classes on any day of the week. Saturdays get booked up very quickly. Emergency First Aid is an 8-hour course. Register for the Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR Level C course if you need a Basic First Aid certificate. The course includes 4 hours of online theory training followed by 4.5 hours of in-person classroom skills training.

Emergency First Aid – Meets CSA Standard Z1210–17 – Basic

Emergency First Aid inculdes 8 hours of training where participants will learn first aid for life threatening injuries and conditions. Standard First Aid includes 16 hours of training that includes all topics in Emergency First Aid and additionally:

• Head, neck and spinal injuries
• Bone, muscle and joint injuries
• Sudden medical injuries
• Environmental illness
• Poisons

Yes. Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid certifications are recognized by WorkSafeBC as equivalent to the Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 program. You can find a list of OFA Level 1 equivalencies here.
