Course Overview
The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) makes hazardous material information uniformly available to all Canadian workers. Given the amount of information and number of parties involved, this can be a complex undertaking. This course explains how WHMIS works, how the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling (GHS) is aligned with WHMIS, who is responsible for various tasks under WHMIS, and how everyone can take full advantage of the hazardous material information available to them.
This course covers the most recent WHMIS 2015 regulations. Ideal learners are all employees.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Specify your rights and responsibilities under WHMIS
- Identify the responsibilities of suppliers and employers under WHMIS
- Recall how the Globally Harmonized System of Labelling and Classification of Chemicals (GHS) aligns with WHMIS
Online Course Duration
Approximately 45 minutes
Pass mark
Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are available in the form of a comprehensive student manual. The manual is a valuable resource for future use and knowledge retention.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this online course, an online certificate of completion will be available to download and print.
